Tuesday 14 June 2011, Take a Camera to Work
ASNT members, imagine in a single day all the possible types
of NDT activities that are happening. What if we could record that
day in photographs and film clips? ASNT wants to see the story,
your story, in images from your workday. Members take your cameras
to work, shoot pictures to start telling the story of NDT in pictures.
|
| How many industries and types of applications
of methods are in use around the world in a single day? In how many
places is pipeline being inspected? Are new airplanes being manufactured?
Is a high rise building constructed? Is a 60 year old suspension
bridge being tested? Is a new racing wheel being manufactured? Are
aging aircraft being inspected? Is research on acoustic emission
evaluation of concrete culverts being pursued? What type of NDT
do you do at work every day? ASNT wants to see your NDT story in
photographs and video/film.
The Society will use this material on the ASNT Web site, in NDT
informational pieces and in promotional material about ASNT’s
programs, products and services.
Ideas for photo and film:
- Show and tell us why ASNT is important to your career and
your work in NDT.
- Show and tell us what type of NDT you use and why it’s
effective for finding potential flaws, cracks…
- Show and tell us what industry you’re in and why your
work is interesting.
- Show and tell us why your work is important to public safety.
- Show and tell us what type of technology you use.
- Show and tell us why a young person might consider a career
in NDT/NDE.

On Tuesday 14 June 2011, take a camera
to work and shoot some images. Don’t shoot just the equipment
you use. We want to see you, our members, and people you work with
in action. Over the course of one 24 hour period, imagine the range
of NDT work that is taking place.
Help ASNT to tell the NDT story in photographs. Take a camera
to work and shoot some stills or take some footage. Tell us the
story of your day.
One extra bit of business. For ASNT to be able to use your photos
and film files, you’ll need to submit a signed photo release
form giving ASNT the right to use the material. Download the Marketing
Communications Photography Release Form. Identify the people
in the photos or footage and explain what is happening. Please
sign off and send your digital files* or prints to Paul Conley
at ASNT by 8 July. You can also mail photos to
ASNT, attention Paul Conley, 1711 Arlingate Lane, Columbus Ohio,
43228.
Can you imagine the story these photos and film/video clips can
tell? Of course the story won’t be complete without yours.
24 Hours in NDT is Tuesday 14 June 2011 —
take your camera to work!
