The Lester Honor Lecture is presented during even numbered years in memory of Horace H. Lester, senior physicist at the Watertown Arsenal in Watertown, Massachusetts. Lester was an outstanding contributor to the field of NDT. He published numerous articles, fostered techniques and did seminal work as chair of ASTM Committee E07. In his honor, the Board of Directors of the Society selects an outstanding person to lecture on a subject with direct bearing on the use of NDT and its application to materials evaluation. The lecture is presented at the ASNT Fall Conference.

ASNT established the Mehl Honor Lecture in honor of the outstanding research in the field of gamma radiography and countless other contributions by Robert F. Mehl. This honor is presented every odd numbered year by the Board of Directors to outstanding persons in the field of NDT. The lecture is traditionally presented during the ASNT Fall Conference.

Eligibility Requirements	Outstanding contributions to the science of NDT
Form of Award	Lester: Citation for presentation in even numbered years; one award per year. Mehl: Citation for presentation in odd numbered years; one award per year.

Application Deadline	Lester: 1 August in even numbered years Mehl: 1 August in odd numbered years
Materials Submitted	Name of nominee, address of nominee, business affiliation of nominee and a paragraph describing the contribution made by the nominee and justification for award including how contributions relate to the appropriate conference theme
